Protram offers next model of tramway. It's tri-module car type 206 with characteristic 70% low-profile floor, all entries in low-profile area, no stairs inside car and unit contruction. It's build with hi-tech materials like carbon composites in aresas responsible for safety and energy absorbtion.

Till end of 2007 year our company delivered to MPK Wroclaw next 4 cars of type 205 WrAs and 2 duo-unit cars of type 204 WrAs.


2007-01-30  New tramways in Wroclaw


By the end of the year 2006 our company released first two models of the 205 WrAs type trams, to be operated by the MPK Wrocław. 205 WrAs is a partially low floor (about 20%), three-module tram, powered by a module, feeding 8 asynchronic engines, reaching power of 50 KW each. 205 WrAs is the newest model from the line of tramways produced by PROTRAM. The appearance of rear and front modules along with some of the construction solutions, refers to the 204 type cars. This, being a result of the need of maximum vehicle unification, effects in the price and maintenance costs reduction. At this point, we would like to make it clear, that the 205 type cars do have no common points with other vehicles of similar concept (for instance Czech cars). The 205 WrAs tram is a vehicle produced, from it's very basis in Wroclaw (with the paricipation of many subcontractors). Moreover, the constrution is not the result of any modernization - as the 205 WrAs type tram is a brand new vehicle. Tramway received a homologation of the type, issued by the Ministry of Transport and meets all the standards that are in force for the new tramways. Currently, the cars are operated on the line 10. First experiences are positive. In the car, apart from putting a great emphasis on making it accessible to the handicapped peoples, a significat amount of attention has been attached to the issues of trafic (and braking) dynamic, as it is a feature strongly desired in a city traffic. This feature has been received thanks to the application of four propelling trolleys and 8 propelled axis. Acceleration and braking delay effect are really impressive. The final effect is a 27-metres long tramway, at the price 2 or 3 times lower than in case of low-floor cars of other manufacturers and with the technical service and maintenance costs at the level similar to 204 type cars

2006-06-02  Continuation of new tramways in Wroclaw.

In the nearest future PROTRAM is to deliver new cars to the MPK Wroclaw (205 WrAs). Cars will consist of three modules and partially low floor (about 20%) and will be equipped in an asynchronic drive along with many interesting construction solutions. Modules first and third will resemble 204 type tram. Due to the unification of the construction process, many elements of 205 type trams will be replacable with 204 type trams elements. New tramway will be characterized by better traction elements (very short braking distance, big acceleration), solid construction, long-standing guarantee, low purchase price and small maintenance costs. Thanks to the low-floor in the middle module, and due to the sliding platform, the vehicle will be easy accessible even on the tram stops without so called platform, making entering to the vehicle easier. Propulsion will consist of modified 204 type trams system with 8 asynchronic engines, with a total power of 400KW. 205 type tram is a great alternative to the high-floor and fully low-floor cars, being even a few times cheaper. New trams will appear on rails by the end of year 2006. At present, tramway is on the stage of first trials. It is a vehicle of a completely own construction, with some of the components and services, obviously being delivered by subcontractors , for instance joints between modules were delivered by German Hubner GmbH company. The body has been created in our company, from the very beginning. Our aim is presenting an offer of a complete line of tramways: with high-floor 204 WrAs trams to begin with, through partially low-floor 205 WrAs tram, to the fully low floor 206 type car. By the means of that, we present a complex offer to the transport companies, depending on their financial and technical abilities. What is important - partially low floor 205 type car can make use of a standard rails accessible to the high-floor 105 type trams, often completely inaccessible to the 100% low-floor construtions, offerring an easy access to the public transport to handicapped people at the price much lower than in case of competetive constructions. We are proud to consider it as a unique position - the only one in the country, on the other hand - particularly because offerred tramways are unified and complementing one another vehicles.
 



2005-09-09  The first new tramway in Wroclaw.

In the course of last few months our company has produced and delivered to the MPK Wrocław new 204 WrAs type tramways. Four new cars have appeared so far. It is a totally new construction, though slightly similar to the modernized 105 type cars in it's external appearance. It is a totally own product, based on company's own project. Bodywork has been created from the basis in our company, some of the components come from our subcontractors, in endurance calculations took part specialists from the Politechnic of Wroclaw. New vehicle has undergone a series of homologation test, which has been confirmed by an adequate certificate. Formally, it is the first new tramway to be produced in Wroclaw since the end of the Second World War. Thiss success has been possible thanks to the strong engagement of PROTRAM, MPK Wroclaw and the city authorities, concerned by the issues of the public transport. Tramway is distinguished by a straight side walls, glued in windows, and a wider doors - all of that put together, results in a spacious and simple shape. Tramway is propelled by 4 alternating current engines. Also, the organization of the interior has been changed, due to the addition of new handles, seats and open spaces for the trolleys. Driver's workplace is equipped in air conditioning and an ergonomic seat and steering dashboard.Our current aim is improvement of the technologies making the tramway more accessible to the handicapped people using wheelchairs. We encourage everyone to using tramways from Wroclaw. Tramway is simply better!
 

2004-07-09  What is new in the company?

Our company is undergoing a moderinization. We have built a new technological line, consisting of shot and laquer a chambers. They are one of the most modern appliances of its sort. Our goal is improving the qualito of our production. These new investition allows us to give a long-term guarantees for the steel constructions and lacquer layers. They also give us the opportunity to make new constructions.

We have also bought a modern computer steered lathe, used mainly for the making of tramway traction wheels.
We have also introduced an ISO 9001 certificate.
The modernization process is still in progress...


2004-07-09  Challenger in Wroclaw

In the second half of year 2003 PROTRAM passed over to the operator (MPK Wrocław Sp. z o.o.) first modernized cars, easy recognizable by the citizens of Wroclaw, because of their changed appearance.
As a matter of fact, changes made in this cars are not only restricted to their appearance. New constructions are based on a type 105 Na car, designed to the modernization, along with it's all disadvantages - weak construction and sloppy finishing, what, combined with their long-term operation, gives a good modernization basis.
New cars have met with a significant dose of interest, particularly because they look like a completely new vehicles.
